The family and friends of Edward Francis Cornejo, 77, has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their loved one on his final journey to his resting place.  It will be our honor to do so.  This request not only comes in from his daughter-in-law, but also one of our own PGR, Candyman, and cousin to our hero.

Edward, known to family and friends as "Eddie" was born on 16 June 1946.  Eddie entered the US Army on 13 December 1967 where he spent the next three years until 16 January1970.  In 1969, Eddie met and married his wife Celia, who went by the name of Sally.  While in the Army, Eddie was sent to Vietnam to fight for his country.  During his time in Country, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, 2 overseas bars; Sharpshooter badge, ( M-14); Expert Marksmanship with the (M-16); Army Commendation Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze stars; and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device.  He was honorably discharged as a Specialist 5.

Once Eddie returned home from his service to his country with an honorable discharge he went back to work as a mechanic.  His profession as well as his hobbies turned out to be a good choice.  His hobbies became fishing, boating, and working on cars.

Eddie leaves behind many fond memories for the family and friends who remain behind and will miss him.  Eddie will be laid to rest with his wife, Sally, who were married for 52 wonderful years until she passed away 17 August 2021.

Eddie is survived by his children:  Ralph Garcia, Lisa Garcia, Edward Cornejo Jr.; and Arnold Cornejo.  He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Eddie was also predeceased by three brothers and one sister.

NOTE:  If you would rather go to RNC directly due to commuter traffic at that time of the morning, please let me know who wants to take charge of that and I will send you a Glympse so you will know our transit location.  Only the immediate family will be traveling with us and the remainder of funeral attendees will be sent on ahead to RNC.

NOTE:  The weather is expected to be warm.  Please eat something light and keep hydrated.

"Standing For Those Who Stood For Us

Only two defining forces offered to die for you:
Jesus Christ, and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other died for your freedom.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
