The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Louis Leonard Morales, 81, to attend final military honors of their hero.  It will be our privilege to fulfill their request.

Louis served in the United State Army from 1964-1966. At the time of his honorable discharge, he was a SP4 (E-4).  His MOS was 31M20 (Radio Relay) serving with Company B, 121st Signal Battalion in support of the Army’s First Division (The Big Red One).  He received the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and qualified as Sharpshooter (M-14).

Following his service to America, our hero worked until his retirement as a member of the Teamsters’ Union, employed by Certified Grocers of California as a warehouseman.  He was a fishing and photography hobbyist and an avid sports fan.  His team favorites were the Angels and the Rams.

Louis was a past Commander of VFW Post 12020 and active in American Legion Post 53 (Hemet); he served as Adjutant as well as a member of their Honor Guard.  He was an officer in District 21, American Legion.  He also volunteered with the Military Honor Detail (MHD) at Riverside National Cemetery.

Louis is survived by his two sisters, Silvia and Helen, and his children, Phillip and Pamela.  He is preceded in death by four other siblings.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
