The family of Mark Edward Ashton has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their Hero’s final journey. We are honored to fulfill this request.

Our Hero served honorably in the US Army from 9/74 to 9/77 and was discharged at the rank of SPC 4, E-4. During his enlistment, he was stationed at Ft. Ord, CA as a  Motor Transport Operator. His primary duty was that of a semitruck driver. During that time, he was awarded the National Defense Ribbon, Driver and Mechanic Badge and Expert Marksman Badge.

As a civilian, Mark worked as a tow truck driver. His hobbies included woodworking, making tables, tv stands and bassinets to name a few. He loved sailing and BBQs with family and friends. Holidays were very special to Mark and he loved entertaining in his home.

Our Hero is survived by four children; Peter, Kristi, Stephanie and Pamela. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, please see the time table if you would like to participate.
