The family of Raymond Mori, 89, has requested the Patriot Guard Riders be present as this hero is given his military honors.  It will be our honor to fulfill their request.

Raymond Mori, Sr., served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-1978.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Master Sergeant (E8) after 23 years of service.  He served during two wars, Korea and Vietnam, and was the recipient of multiple awards to include two Purple Hearts, 19 air medals, 3 Combat Aircrew Medals, Air Medal with Bronze Star, and Presidential Unit Citation to name a few.

After Raymond retired from the Corps, he went to work for Bell Helicopter in Iran.  Subsequently, he worked for General Dynamics until his retirement.

Raymond was a founding member of the Marine Corp League and a proud member of the VFW where he often played Santa with his wife at Christmas.  His enjoyed judo, fishing, hunting, BBQs, gardening, gem hunting, and holidays with family and friends.  He lived by his motto ONCE A MARINE, ALWAYS A MARINE.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 67 years, Teresa Mori, a dedicated loving Marine wife.  He was also the father of 5, a grandfather to 15, great-grandfather to 18, and 1 great-great granddaughter.

“One straw at a time.”

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
