The family of Jerry Gandara has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their hero’s final journey. We are honored to fulfill this request.
Our hero proudly served in the US Air Force from 6/1966-6/1972 and was honorably discharged at the rank of A1C. He served a tour in Vietnam as a K-9 handler and an interrogator. Service awards consisted of the National Defense Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
As a civilian Jerry worked for the City of Los Angeles as a Truck Crane Operator/Engineer. Our hero spent significant personal time involved with the DAV and the Vice President of the Boys of Belvedere. This organization consisted of Veterans, Jr. High and High School students. Their primary goal was to raise funds for scholarships for High School students.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife and leaves behind three children, son Jerry Jr., and daughters Ahyoka and Sandy.
