The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Larry Fellows to attend Final Military Honors of their Hero. It will be our privilege to fulfill their request.
Our hero was born in Muskegon, Michigan in 1947. He was the eldest of five siblings to parents Clifford and Leora Fellows. Larry enlisted in the United States Navy in November of 1966 after his graduation from Western High School in Anaheim, California. At the time of his Honorable Discharge in 1970 he held the rating of SN (E3). He served three tours in Vietnam. Larry enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow veterans and rarely was seen without his veterans' hat. A true patriot.
Following his military service, he was a truck driver for a few years. He started a 26-year career working for the State of California, Chino Institute for Men as a Corrections Officer. He ended his career at that facility as Industrial Warehouse and Distribution Manager. Following his retirement, he worked for Executive Event Services where he made many new friends and enjoyed dealing with new people. He didn’t consider it to be a “job”.
In 1993 he met and in 2000 married the love of his life, Julianna. They each had children of their own as well as children together and were foster parents to many little ones.
He enjoyed playing Texas Hold’em, and celebrating his birthdays with chocolate cake and lobster. His sense of humor was ever present and he was a “presence” when he entered the room. He spent his final days in the VA Hospital in Loma Linda after a long and valiant fight against the ravages of Agent Orange.
Our hero is survived by his devoted wife, Julianna and children Scott, Andrew, Cody, Tonya and Sable and stepdaughters Loralynn and Christina, siblings Duane, Gloria, Linda, and Carol. He will be missed by his 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and life-long friends.
