The family of Warren Tilson Heiser, Jr., has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard to accompany him and his family from Lancaster to Los Angeles National Cemetery. It will be our distinct honor to do so.
Warren was born on May 21, 1947 and passed away on July 28, 2024 at the age of 77.
Warren completed his high school requirements graduating with Honor from Towle High School in New Hampshire in 1965. In 1966, right out of high school, Warren joined the United States Army and served proudly until his Honorable Discharge in 1969.
Upon arrival in boot camp at Fort Dix, New Jersey, Warren learned all that he could about being the best person for the job at whatever it may entail to serve his Country. After 8 weeks in boot camp, Warren went to Aviation school where he spent the next 5 weeks learning all he could about single engine observation, and utility maintenance on an airplane.
Warren was very mechanically inclined so a lot of the learning he had to do came pretty natural, and he felt he had found his new home in the Army.
Upon Warren's Graduation from aviation school he received his orders to ship out with the 509th RRG (Radio Research Group) and headed off to Tan Son Nhut Airbase, Saigon.
Warren received his Honorable Discharge as Sgt. ( E-5) in 1969. During his time, he received the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Service Medal.
When Warren received his Honorable Discharge and returned back to civilian life, it was difficult at first, but once he started tinkering with cars and motorcycles, he got right back in the groove. Warren went right back to work being a mechanic and a construction foreman. His jobs actually turned into his hobbies so he never worked a day in this life because to him it was all fun. He became a car enthusiast and a Harley owner and rider so he had the best of both worlds.
Warren passed away in his sleep alone with no family around him. Cause was pancreatic cancer.
He leaves behind his daughter, Saundia, who is also a Veteran, and sons, Jeremiah and Chris.
Warren will be taking his last ride to Los Angeles National Cemetery on the back of a Harley.

The only family will be his daughter, who is also a Veteran, and her 2 brothers. Sounds like no one else will be there. We hopefully can fill that void. We have 2 other missions same day, almost same times. Please...anyone that can turn out, would be greatly appreciated.NOTE: For those of us that will be traveling up from Orange County Area, we will be meeting at Denny's Restaurant in Buena Park. Due to LA traffic, we are estimating a 2 hour travel time to Lancaster from Denny's.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the mortuary to the cemetery, approx 66 miles. (NOTE: estimated mileage from Orange County to the final destination is 160 miles.) Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the gates of the cemetery, we will meet you there at approximately 1045 hrs.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
