The family of John Wiltz Compton Jr has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

John Joined the United States Army in 1956 and served honorably until 1958. John served time during the cold war, spending time in Germany.

Most of John's life employment was as an Oil Drilling Rig Engineer in Texas.  Prior to that he worked in administration and bookkeeping for local employers including the Metropolitan Transit System, Coronado Hotel and the Port District.
John loved to hunt geese and duck with his cousin Glen and fish in his kayak and catch lobsters.

He enjoyed traveling in Mexico, where he met his wife, Aurora.  John traveled as far south as Chiapas, Mexico and North to Canada.  John played football quarterback in Coronado High School and in City College.  One of his favorite past times was watching football and the Dallas Cowboys.

John is survived by his children Ed Garcia, Rosa Garcia, Jesus Garcia, Yvonne Compton and Sandra Compton. As well as 9 grandchildren. John was 91 years old when he passed.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
