James E. Sleight, 81, USN, FLO/El Cajon Cemetery - 18 Oct
« on: October 16, 2024, 03:27:34 AM »
The family of James E. Sleight has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

James E. Sleight was born 11/25/1942 and entered his final rest on 10/2/2024 he was 81. James served in the United States Navy from November 1959 till November 1963 attaining the rank of E3. James was such an excellent swimmer that he served much of his enlistment as a “Lifeguard“ for Naval training!

Unfortunately, James passed due to Cancer complications, not directly correlated to his service.

Jim in his civilian life owned and ran a General Contracting service for many years, constructing many residences and commercial buildings in the San Diego area. Jim loved the Lord, a man of many interests, Bass fishing, Texas Hold’em poker but family was most dear to his heart, and he loved his grandchildren often taking them to and from school and all their activities.

Jim is survived by his wife Dorothy, together they had 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission, all PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
