CORRECTED TIME TABLE BELOW

This will be a two part mission

The family and the U.S. Army have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend and honor LTC Lawrence S. Singleton, it will be our honor to do so.

In 1952, LTC Lawrence S. Singleton was on board a C-134 Globemaster military aircraft that was flying from McChord Air Force Base in Washington to Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska when it crashed in a storm over an icy glacier.  All 52 members on board were lost and missing until 2 years ago when an Alaska National Guard helicopter spotted some debris over the melting glacier during a training exercise.  A rescue effort began which eventually resulted in 17 of those original 52 being identified and returned home.  LTC Singleton is one of those 17.

LTC Singleton, 48 yrs of age, served a long and illustrious career in the U.S. Army with service in WWII and Korea. He will be returned home to Santa Barbara for a proper burial with military honors.

Part 1 will consist of his arrival at LAX with an accompany of approximately 100 miles to the mortuary in Santa Barbara, CA. IMPORTANT:  Please make sure you are topped off and ready for 100 mile ride, also please bring something to stay hydrated.
