The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family to attend services for John Albert Spear. We would be honored to do so.
 
During his service, John was a WWII Battlefield medic attached to the 1st Marine Division. South Pacific Theatre. He was in heavy combat action at Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, Peleliu, and aboard the USS Knudson.
 
John received 3 Bronze Stars-Asiatic Pacific, Navy Unit Citation, Victory Medal WW II, Presidential Unit Citation.
 
After his time in the US Navy,  John worked 33 years with Pacific Telephone (AT&T) in Southern California.
 
John loved his USC Trojans and was given Honorary Alumnus Degree, September 2014.
 
John is survived by: Sons- John and Ken Spear; Daughters- Linda Lee Spear and Jill Spear; grandchildren- 7; great grandchildren-5
 

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the home residence to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

1315 - Flag Line and KSU to Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518

1400 - Est arrival Riverside National Cemetery  (staging area 3 for family, staging area 8 for PGR)
 
1430 - KSU to assigned shelter for Flag Line, Service, and Military Honors.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car)
