**** TIME CHANGE ** TIME CHANGE ****
This flight is now arriving approx 1 HOUR EARLY!! Please see updated time table below.
The Command and FRO (Family Readiness Officer) of this USAR Unit have asked the Patriot Guard Riders to provide a Welcome Home to one of their units and their brave Soldiers who are returning from deployment to Afghanistan. The least we can do is show these military men and women and their families that we support and appreciate what they sacrifice for us all.
IMPORTANT: While speaking with the FRG, Julie (her husband was also deployed with this Unit), she received a text from a soldier in the Unit. She explained to me that their morale is VERY low, after serving a 1 year deployment they have been stateside for over a week and their families were not allowed to fly there to see them. They so badly want to come home and be reunited with their families. Also, she added that this Unit has not been allowed to have any kind of Welcome Home Ceremonies lately and these soldiers and families feel very unappreciated. She expressed how just having a few PGR members there to tell these guys and gals "Thank You"
would go so far.. and mean so much.NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring these Heroes. Please go directly to
HQ by 1400. Go to the North Gate on Federal Ave.
You must have a picture ID with you. Tell them you are with the PGR and they will tell you where to park. We will be forming a Flag Line On Federal Ave & Wilshire Blvd. If you have any problems please tell them you were given these instructions by the FRG - Julie Kelly.
UPDATED Time Table for Wednesday 18 SEP 13:1400 - Go Directly to North Gate at HQ, 1250 Federal Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90025.
