The family of Johannes "Hans" Bevers, 62, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this Navy veteran for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Hans served in the US Navy from 1970 to 1974, during which time he spent time in Southeast Asia. At the time of his discharge Hans had attained the rank of E-4.
After his military service, Hans continued serving his fellow citizen with the California Highway Patrol where he was a Motorcare Specialist 1, Field Inspector.
Hans is survived by his wife, 2 sisters, numerous nieces and nephews, a world of friends and his 91-yr-old mother.
Among Hans' many friends are PGR members Bill Vargo and Al Gillard.
The family has requested an accompaniment from the church service in Ramona to the family home, a distance of approximately 3 miles.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church services to the family home. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
