The family of SrA Raymond Michael Cruz, 32, USAF, has invited Patriot Guard Riders to Honor their loved one at his final services. We are honored to attend.
Raymond Michael Cruz "Mike", 32, was born September 1, 1982 in Indio, CA, the beloved son of Rene and Diana Cruz. Mike left to be with our Lord on Feb. 3, 2015. He graduated from La Quinta High School in 2000, where he played baseball, basketball, and ran cross country. Mike's love of baseball started at the age of 4 years old, where his baseball journey began along with his Dad. He played rec ball, winter ball, travel ball, high school ball, college ball, and also played in the military.
He attended El Camino College in Torrance, CA, after high school, and later joined the United States Air Force, he was stationed in Ramstein, Germany for three years, where he was deployed to Iraq, Operation Iraqi Freedom the 332nd Expeditionary Mission Support Group and Operation Iraqi Freedom 407th Air Expeditionary Group. He was also deployed on 64th Expedition Security Forces Squadron, Saudi Arabia.
He returned from the Air Force and attended San Diego State University and also volunteered as a baseball coach at San Diego Community College.
Mike is survived by his parents, Rene and Diana Cruz of Indio, his sisters, Morgan and Marissa Cruz. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Leon Nava, and Irene Leon and paternal grandparents, Ray and Priscilla Cruz. He is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends who loved him beyond words.
Services will take place on Friday, February 13th, 2015 at the Apostolic Church at 46 601 Vargas Road in Indio. Viewing and visitation will be at 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Prayer service will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Coachella Valley Cemetery in Coachella with Forest Lawn in charge of arrangements.
This is a combat related mission, there will be dog tagsNOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church services to his final resting place. For those who wish to go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
