The family of Frank E.Cowley , USMC has invited the Patriot Guard to honor this hero from the "Last Great Generation" it would be our honor to do so.

Frank was born in Pennsylvania where he went to school all his life and eventually ended up going to Penn State. He loved sports and became interested in Football, and Track, where he excelled in both sports.

After graduation from Penn State  Frank met his wife Kathryn and were later married. They remained married up to the day of his passing. They were married for a total of 68 yrs.

After graduation Frank joined the Marines where he attained the rank of Captain.  Frank was a part of a 20 MM anti- aircraft gun crew on the USS Hancock, that experienced a near miss by a Japanese dive bomber whose delayed fuse bomb hit Franks gun group but slid between two of the gun emplacements and went over the side before detonation in the water just below the gun group station.  As an Infantryman, Frank was awarded the Silver Star for "Conspicuous Gallantry and Intrepidity"

Upon discharge from the Marines Frank became somewhat of an entrepreneur in businesses: owning a Shakeys Pizza Parlor, Uniflight Yachts, Luxury travel, and a Big and Tall Clothing stores.

Frank loved playing football, and Yachting, but most of all his pride and joy was his family...

Frank is survived by his wife Kathryn of 68 yrs...2 children Rick Cowley his son, Diana Myers, his daughter, Ilene his sister, and 4 grand children, and 2 great grand children.

We are loosing a lot of our "Greatest Generation" lets not let their memory be forgotten.....
