The family of CPO Adam McKay has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be preset to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Adam McKay joined the US Navy in October of 1983 and served 20 years, retiring in October 2003 at the rank of Chief.
Chief McKay served in Bremerton Washington, Barbers Point Hawaii, Diego Garcia BIOT, Norfolk Virginia, Moffet Field California, Fallon Nevada (this is where he made Chief Petty Officer), USS Nimitz (did deployment to Persian Gulf onboard the Nimitz) and his last tour was at China Lake California.
After he retired from the Navy in Oct 2003 Chief McKay went to work at the Electronic Combat Range, China Lake as a Contractor. He went Civil Service Apr 2007also at the Electronic Combat Range.
The Chief's hobbies were golfing, bowling and motorcycle riding, and he had ridden many missions with the SoCal PGR.
Chief McKay is survived by his wife, his daughter and son, his parents and one brother.
The family has asked for an accompaniment from Ridgecrest, CA to Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, CA, a distance of approximately 100 miles.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
