NOTE:  THE TIME AND STAGING LOCATION FOR THIS MISSION HAVE BEEN CHANGED!!!
The time and location have been changed to reflect a PGR accompaniment
for this hero and family to Miramar National Cemetery.
Please see time table below!

The family of Rick Wayne Kagamaster, 63 has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero and PGR member for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Rick enlisted in the United States Navy in October of 1971.   He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War having served aboard the USS Turner Joy.  For his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal w/ Bronze Star, the Sea Service Ribbon w/ Bronze Star, the Republic of Vietnam Service Medal w/ Bronze Star, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Navy Battle "E" Ribbon and a letter of commendation from the Commanding Officer of the USS Peoria (LST-1183).  He was discharged in Sept. 1973.

Rick re-enlisted in June of 1976, made E-6 in 1977, made Chief (E-8) in 1982 as GMCC.  He switched specialties from working on guns to working on their guidance and control systems.  It was during this time he received the Navy Battle "E" Ribbon and the letter of commendation from the Commanding Officer of the USS Peoria (LST-1183).

Rick was also a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.  He was discharged in 1991 after having accrued a total of 15 ½ years military service.

In civilian life Rick loved to travel. Just say “Road Trip” and he was first in line.  Rick loved riding his Honda Gold Wing or driving his Miata.  He always said “what really matters isn’t the miles per gallon, but the smiles per gallon".  He was also a member of the SoCal PGR; he will be missed by all who knew him.

Rick leaves behind his wife “CJ” (Carol), daughters Nikki and Crystal, son Skipper and 3 grandchildren.

The family has asked for a flag line at Miramar National cemetery as Rick receives his final honors.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, please see the time table below.
