The widow of Chief Petty Officer and Master at Arms Phillip Barrow has asked the Patriot Guard to take her husband and hero from their home in Loogootee, Indiana on his final journey to the Naval Base in San Diego, California for Burial at Sea. The Patriot Guard is proud to be of service and relay Chief Petty Officer Barrow across the eight states of Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California so that he may be buried in accordance with his wishes.

Chief Petty Officer and Master at Arms Philip Joseph Barrow proudly served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Navy, from which he retired after 27 total years of service.

During his service and deployments, Chief Barrow was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 5 campaign devices, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for Korea, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2 awards), National Defense Service Medal and 5 Navy Good Conduct Awards.

After leaving the Navy, Philip spent most of his civilian career in Jasper, Indiana, working for Kimballs, Decora, and finally Jasper Engines and Transmissions from which he retired for a second time.

He continued serving his Military brothers and sisters in the VFW, and was the Post Commander at VFW Post 9395 in Loogootee at the time of his death.
