JD Jones, 83, USN, Korea, Anaheim - 22 NOV 15
« on: November 18, 2015, 06:09:36 AM »
The family of Navy Veteran JD Jones has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their hero for his service and sacrifice to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Mr. Jones proudly served with the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 aboard the USS Redstart (AM-378). His awards include the Korean War Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal, earning the rank of Petty Officer Third Class (BM3) at time of discharge. His military service continued in the U.S. Navy Reserves until 1959.

Returning to civilian life, JD worked at Kaiser Gypsum, a building material manufacturing company, for 39 years. His passion for sports would take him to Lions Drag Strip, Speedway Motorcycle races, NASCAR races, and Angel stadium for baseball. And he loved watching all the grandkids and great grandkids in their sporting endeavors.

JD Jones is survived by son Jeff, daughters Jennifer and Jackie, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission, go to the staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please ride/drive safely.
