It's an honor the family of Downey Police Officer and USMC veteran Ricardo 'Ricky' Galvez invites the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his funeral and military honors.

Ricky, born 6 APR 86, loved Los Angeles and enjoyed serving the Downey Community as a police aide.  In 2008, Ricky joined the USMC Reserves as part of the 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines (2/23).   On December 1, 2008, 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines was activated for deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In 2010 Ricky continued his service to the people joining the Downey Police Department as a patrol officer.  In 2012, Ricky was again called to USMC duty and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He loved to run and was co-captain of the Downey Police Department's Baker to Las Vegas relay team, an annual run for law enforcement personnel. Ricky loved the Corps and Downey Police Department.

Sadly, Officer Ricardo Galvez perished in the Line of Duty.

Ricky is survived by his mother,  Margarita; brother, Pedro and sisters, Sandra and Nancy.
