The family of Lafoina Pa'ala has requested the Patriot Guard to join them in paying Honors to this American Hero it will truly be our Honor to do so.

Lafoina, grew up loving all people her entire life. What ever she did it was always with the intent on making everyone's day a little better. Her family said no matter who she met or what time of the day or night, she always made their day better, and if they were around her house tried to feed them.

Lafoina joined the U.S. Army from 1978 to 1982. She went to work for the County of Los Angeles upon completion of her Army tour. She worked for the County for 30 years. Even thou Lafoina was working trying to help people, she decided it was time to do more. So Lafoina re-enlisted back in a U.S. Army reserve unit.

During this time of enlistment her unit was activated and deployed to Iraq for Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. During this time Lafoina earned the Combat Action Badge of Iraq. She completed service at the rank of Sergeant.

Lafoina loved to travel and explore the world, and the people in it. She loved outdoor activities, and spending as much time as she could with family and friends.

Lafoina's family is devastated by the loss of this magnificent woman and mother. Lafoina leaves a small family behind, Beverly her daughter, and one Grandson, Matanielu David Pa'ala Philpp.

But their roots run deep and proud. The mountain of extended family, and friends will help get them thru this. She is a woman who will truly be missed.
