The family of Manuel Torres has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the serves of their Hero and we will be honored to do so.

Manuel Torres, 89, served in WWII in the US Navy from February 26, 1946 until his honorable discharge on December 8, 1947 at the rank of Seaman 1st Class.  He witnessed the bombing of Bikini Atoll, and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal among others.

After the military Manuel enrolled in trade school and became a draftsman, in 1949 he went to work for ACME Electric Welder eventually becoming the company's Chief Engineer and retired in 1981.  He continued to work as a consultant in that business until 1998.

Manuel enjoyed gardening and teaching his children and grandchildren and serving them food from his garden.  He also loved tending his rose bushes and bringing beautiful bouquets into the house for his wife Vera.
