The family of Korean war veteran Frank N. Buccola has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in the services of their loved one and honor this American Hero. We are honored to attend.
Frank was born July 12, 1933 in Los Angeles and attended Lincoln High where he graduated in 1953. Soon after, he entered service with the Army in 1953 and was deployed to the Korean conflict as part of the 34th Infantry Regiment where he participated in campaigns from Pusan to the 38th Parallel. Later he was stationed in Japan and Monterrey California before leaving active duty for the US Army Reserves. Frank served his country for a total of 8 years and doing so earned the Korean Service medal, the National Defense Service medal, the United Nations Service medal and the Good Conduct medal.
Frank was married to the love of his life Norma for 58 years and during this time they ran a family owned construction company for over 50 years. Frank and Norma had 5 children and as they became adults they joined the family business as well.
Frank was a lifelong football fanatic who played while in high school, in the army and while attending East Los Angeles Community College. He was arguably the biggest USC Trojan fan in the San Gabriel Valley with a room full of Trojan memorabilia including a life size Tommy Trojan Statue!
Frank leaves behind his wife Norma of 58 years who was the love of his life, their 5 children and 10 grandchildren.
