!!! TIME CHANGE/FUNERAL HOME HAS MOVED EVERYTHING UP ONE HOUR !!!The family of Ernest "Jake" Baldwin, USN, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this Hero for his service to our country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Jake enlisted in the United States Navy 1963. He served two tours in Vietnam. Jake had said that two of his most rewarding experiences while serving in the Navy was the time he spent working in the Panama Canal Zone and his time on a Civil Action Team on the island of Yap in Micronesia. Chief Baldwin retired after 26 years of service in the Navy Seabees as an EOC, or Equipment Operator Chief.
After retiring from the Navy, Chief Baldwin started his second career with the Ventura County Agriculture Department and worked there for 15 years. During this time, he earned an Associates Degree from Oxnard College.
In later life, Jake pursed a third career as a Support Services Independent Living instructor with ARC of Ventura County.
Aside from work, Jake loved following his New England Patriots and enjoyed camping and RVing.
Jake is survived by his wife of 31 years, three daughters, three sons, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild, one sister and a large extended family.
