The family of Phillip “Ed” Grace has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders to honor this American Hero. It is our honor to do so. Phillip “Ed” Grace was born on December 20, 1932, and entered into eternal rest on July 17, 2017, as he lost his battle with cancer.
Phillip “Ed” Grace served in the US Navy from January, 1951 to October,1954. At time of discharge, Ed had received the following medals:
Korea Conflict, National Defense Service Medal, Korean War Conflict 2 Stars, United Nations Medal, Overseas Service Medal
After being Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Navy, Phillip spent 20 years in law enforcement with the Los Angeles Police Department. Not being ready for permanent retirement, he then spent an additional 20 years in sales for Kampers Korner. He was a member of the Spring Valley Lake Country Club and enjoyed golfing for many years. Phillip was passionate about working with and helping other Veterans and was the key component in the formation of the Spring Valley Lake VFW post 12039 where he held every position over his many years of service.
Phillip is survived by his wife Carol, Children Steve, Sharon, Susan, Shirley and Cindy, 4 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and Sisters Carol, June and Brother Rudy and their families respectively.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the funeral home to Riverside National Cemetery, Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

949-939-7282You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
