Per request of Brian (Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona), the family of Lynnard Nash has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey.

It will be our honor to do so.

Lynnard was attending the Art Institute in Chicago when he was drafted. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970, serving two tours in Vietnam. He served eight months in Saigon where he suffered a perforated eardrum. His duties were classified, his honors were unknown.

Although he concealed it from his children as long as possible until they became adults, Lynnard suffered from PTSD.

After his honorable discharge as an Airman Third Class, Lynnard became a computer engineer and programmer and worked for a major computer company. Afterwards he started his own hazardous waste management company and held several contracts with major companies and the government. Later, he became a computer teacher in 1998 and retired in 2009.

Lynnard was an extremely intelligent man and computers were his passion. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, building electronics and playing video games.

Lynnard is survived by his wife and two adult daughters. He also leaves behind his father and mother, two brothers and one sister.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the Chapel to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

The weather is predicted to be hot so please stay hydrated and don't forget to eat; it can make a difference with your ability to withstand the heat.
