The family of
Lieutenant Commander Jimmy Wayne De Marco has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
LCDR Jimmy De Marco, 73, proudly served our country in the United States Navy for 21 years (1962 to 1983). He was a Vietnam veteran and was involved in the Mayaguez Incident while aboard the Midway-class aircraft carrier, USS Coral Sea (CV-43). The Mayaguez Incident is considered to be the last official battle of the Vietnam War.
For his service he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Gold Star, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ Device, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon & the Good Conduct Medal with the Bronze Star.
Jimmy was the primary caregiver for his 101 ½ - year old mother, his quadriplegic brother and his companion Bandit, an Australian Sheppard.
Jimmy loved riding his trike. He passed away a few days after a spectacular ride with his dear friend Doug Brown. They went to Sturgis, SD on a 3300-mile adventure, visiting Yellowstone & all of God's beautiful countryside.
This hero was preceded in death by his wife Kathrina. He is survived by his sister Suzanne, daughter Lorrietta Bosley, son Larry De Marco, 5 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
LCDR De Marco's daughter Lorrietta & her husband are Patriot Guard Riders. They will be riding with us on their trike along with other family friends.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
