The family of Bernard Rothman has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany our hero from his memorial to his committal where he will receive military honors. We are very honored to participate.

Bernard, a member of the “Greatest Generation”, was drafted into the US Army in February 1944.

He served honorably from 1944 until his honorable discharge in November 1945. He received the Purple Heart for injuries received in February 1945. He earned the rank of Private First Class.

Bernard was born in Brooklyn New York and following his proud service to America he moved to California to study medicine where he became a well respected surgeon.

Bernard was a lover of dance, an avid golfer, and enjoyed spending time with his friends. One of the things he enjoyed the most was the weekly family gatherings and Shabbat dinners.

Bernard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Beatrice, his brother Ronnie, his children Karrie and Douglas, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his children Lauren and Andrew.

Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place.
