The Family of Layton Milborn Lowrance requests the PGR to participate in his Memorial Service and honor him for his service to our country.

Layton joined the US Navy on Feb 7. 1963 and served on the USS Merrick (AKA-97) including one tour in Vietnam. He attained the rank of Machinist Mate Third Class and was honorably discharged on Jan 18, 1967.

He worked in the shipyard shortly after release from the Navy, and then at Seven Up/RC Bottling Company for aprox. 37 years from where he retired in 2010.  He loved to fish and do yard work. He often would help friends and neighbors with their yard work. Fishing was, by far, his most enjoyable activity.  His dream was to fish in Alaska, and he was able to do so on three separate occasions.

Layton is survived by his wife, Louise, of almost 44 years, a son: Jason Allan Lowrance, a daughter, Janine Evvone Lowrance,  3 grand children and 1 great-granddaughter.
