The Family of James Alvin Edwards has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany him on his final journey, and be present during Military Honors for their Hero. It will be an honor and privilege to do so.

E3 Seaman James Edwards served his country From 01/16/62-10/17/1966. He served on the USS Yorktown (CV-10), and was deployed twice to the Tonkin Gulf during his enlistment. Their duty was anti-submarine warfare, and SAR Search-and -Rescue work. James was exposed to Agent Orange at many times during his service, and his health suffered the effects of that exposure for most of his post military life.

During his civilian life James worked 20+ yrs for General Dynamics where he inspected the Advanced Cruise Missile, and many other top secret projects. James then worked with United Launch Systems on the Atlas Centaur, a missile launch system.

James was a man who enjoyed the ocean, fishing, and scuba diving, and enjoyed doing all those activities as much as he could in his off time.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gene Edwards. He is survived by his sons Mark, and Barry, his daughter Zanna, Eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
