The family of Willie Starnes has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his service and military honors, we would be honored to do so.

Willie Starnes was born Oct. 22, 1942 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  Shortly after graduating High School, Willie enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Willie served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965 during the Vietnam Era.

After leaving the service Willie joined the Los Angeles Police Department.  He was an officer from 1965 to 1967 until he was wounded working the streets of Los Angeles.  He recuperated, left L.A.P.D to join the California Highway Patrol.  He was an officer with the CHP from 1967 to 2002, until his retirement.

During his time with the CHP,  Willie worked patrol, promoted to sergeant and worked motorcycle patrol in Los Angeles for five years.  He was then transferred to detective bureau in charge of stolen vehicles in Los Angeles area, where he worked until retirement.

Willie spent his entire life serving his country and his community, 3 years in the US Air Force and 37 years in Law Enforcement. He used to say when he was in law enforcement "I love to go to work every day".
