The family of Master-at-Arms Chief Petty Officer Jose F Tirado has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Chief Tirado proudly served his country for 20 years in the US Navy, and had been deployed to Bahrain as part of Operation Inherent Resolve.  For his service, Chief Tirado was awarded the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medals and various unit and campaign awards.  In 2015 he was named as NSA Bahrain Sailor of the Year.  He was in Bahrain when he was diagnosed with cancer, and passed with his family at his side.

Chief Tirado is survived by his 5 children Alonzo, Antonio, and Sebastian Tirado, and Alkaid and Larissa Linz.  He is also survived by his parents Antonio and Silvia, brother Jorge, sisters Martina Passino and Maria Tirado, his grandmother Eloisa Monte, 3 nieces and nephews, an aunt and uncle, and several cousins.

The family has requested an accompaniment from Saint Rita Catholic Church, San Diego to Riverside National Cemetery, a distance of approximately 90 miles.  It will be our honor to do so.  Due to the distance of this accompaniment please ensure your gas tank is topped off before our departure from the church.

As Chief Tirado was on Active Duty at the time of his passing, there will be tags available.

Note: This notice is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, and all are welcome, please see the time table below.   For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
