The family of Berkley Benton Kaufhold has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.
Berkley was born in Amarillo, Texas on 11 January 1936 and entered into Eternal Rest on 03 January 2018.
Berkley was a resident of Riverside for over fifty years.
Berkley graduated from Amarillo High School, subsequently earning his B.A. from West Texas State and his Masters from North Texas State.
Prior to moving to California Berkley enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was in the Army from 1958 to 1960 serving in Korea and around the United States. He was honorably discharged as a PFC.
Berkley spent his entire adult life as a teacher that included over forty years of teaching at Norte Vista High School in Riverside. After retirement Berkley spent time educating and mentoring new teachers in association with California State University, San Bernardino.
One of his many gifts was the ability to see and bring out the best in his students and to help them develop abilities and talents they didn’t even know they had.
Berkley along with local business leaders and educators founded the Riverside Youth Scholarship Organization which focused on helping Riverside County students afford college.
Berkley is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Paula, his children Steven, Ivy and Hans. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and many family members.
