The family of MSgt William Amos Behana has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

MSgt William “Bill” Behana, 92, served his country for 27 years in the US Marine Corps (1944 - 1971), retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant (E-8).

During WWII, Bill landed at Iwo Jima and was part of the post-war Occupation Force in Japan.  He was also a veteran of the Korean War and the war in Vietnam.

In his post-military career, Bill taught at the Miramar College Law Enforcement Academy, Grossmont College Physical Education Department and was a Security Officer there as well.

Bill was also a San Diego County Sheriff Reserve Deputy for 35 years, a member of Elks Lodge 1812 in El Cajon and the East County Christian Fellowship Church. For all those roles he loved, the roles he loved best were husband, Dad, and Grandpa.

Bill is survived by his wife of 42 years, his daughter, his son and his grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying this hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
