The family of Marcello "Marty"  Valdez Arguelles has requested an accompaniment by the Patriot Guard Riders on his last travel here on earth.

Marcello Arguelles was a member of our greatest generation, he served proudly during WWII. and his family has been proud supporters of VWF at Riverside National Cemetery with the PGR.

Marcello  "Marty"  Arguelles was born in Moline, Kansas on November 12, 1922, his family moved to California in his younger years. Marty graduated from Lake Elsinore High School where he lettered in Track, Basketball, Baseball, and Football.  Upon his graduation, Marty was called to served his country in the United States Army, 84th Infantry Division.  Marty served from July 3, 1943 to April 30, 1946.

During his service, Marty was awarded The American Campaign Medal, The European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, The Good Conduct Medal and The Purple Heart Medal for his injuries during  the battle of Belgium on January 6, 1945.

After his military service, Marty met and married the love of his life, Marcella Gutierrez Salgado.  Marty worked for Corona-Norco Unified School District as part of the district maintenance crew from which he retired.

Marty is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years Marcella, one sister, and 5 children, Catalina,Rudy, Lydia, Anthony and Justin, also a grandson that he raised as his own, Rudy Arguelles Jr., many grandchildren and great grandchildren.


NOTE;  This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero from the mortuary to his final resting place at Riverside National Cemetery.  Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the Cemeterey, we will meet you there.

1115  -  Flag Line as Hero is transfered to the coach.

1230  -  ETA arrival at RNC

1300  -  KSU to assigned shelter for Flag Line, Service & Military Honors.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
