The family of
FTM2 Neal Raymond Atkinson has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
FTM2 Neal Atkinson proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1977 to 1997 and achieved the rank of FTM2 – Fire Control Technician (Surface Missile Fire Control) Petty Officer 2nd Class. He served aboard the USS Hoel (DD-533) the Guided Missile Destroyer and the USS Waddell (DDG-24) Guided Missile Armed Destroyer.
Neal enjoyed tractor work, loved his Church, Shadow Mountain, and his past time of writing poetry. He truly loved helping others and was loved by all.
Neal is survived by his wife Gail, son Keith, his sisters Ellen and Nan, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero from the mortuary to Miramar National Cemetery. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
