The family of Joseph Stevens Pike, have asked the Patriot Guard Riders to pay Honors on their Hero's final journey home. It will be our honor to do so.
Joseph was 92 years old at the time of his death, and passed on February 26, 2018.
Joseph served 2 enlistments in the United States Navy from October 31, 1943 to May 6, 1946, and August 26, 1949 to May 13, 1951 as a PO3 Sonar Man, and later a Naval Aviator. He later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a pilot from May 16, 1951 to October 10, 1953. His rank was as a 1stLt at the time of his honorable discharge.
His commendations included the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
After his discharge, Joseph was a commercial pilot for Trans World Airlines for 32 years.
He loved gardening and tennis, and he and his wife attended the Symphony regularly.
His wife of 59 years Joy Leora, preceded Joseph in death in 2016. He is survived by his daughter Joy Lynne, 2 granddaughters, and one great grandchild with another on the way.
Joseph and his wife's cremains will be brought by the family to the cemetery and interred together.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
