The family of David Eugene Rahn, 92, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his funeral services and honor him for his military service, we are privileged to do so.

David Rahn served in the US Navy during WWII, most notably aboard the USS Sante Fe (CL-60), a Cleveland Class light cruiser that saw a lot of action in the Pacific during the War.  David received a Purple Heart for injury during this time as he lost his hearing as a result of battle.  David served from March 5, 1943 until he was honorably discharged on Dec 7, 1945.

After the military David eventually owned a grocery/produce business for most of his life. He also enjoyed many hobbies, flying, fishing, bowling, playing golf, and growing his famous tomatoes.

David was married for nearly 63 years, his wife Mona sadly passed away 1 month prior to that anniversary.  They had 2 daughters, Deanna & Donna, sadly Deanna passed away in 2001, he is survived by his daughter Donna, 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  He also had many good friends and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the chapel services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
