The family of Master Sergeant Robert Bruce Higgins has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

MSGT Bruce Higgins, 86, proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1968.  He was a weather technician in Germany during the Berlin Airlift, keeping the planes informed of the weather over Berlin during Operation Vittles (June 1948–September 1949).  Bruce also served on the Inspector General's staff to activate Radar installations along the California coast and would be First Sergeant at Tachikawa AFB in Japan and at Geiger Field, AFB Spokane, Washington.  He retired as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of distinguished service.

After Bruce left the service he became business manager for the University of Idaho Graduate School and later, a realtor.  He was also a volunteer for ”CASA” Court Appointed Special Advocates for children (these are abused/neglected kids who are removed from parents and placed in foster homes).

Bruce is survived by his wife of 67 years Georgia, and 4 children Bruce, Karl, Jeanine and Christine; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
