Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), a non-profit organization. has invited the Patriot Guard to attend the Key Turning Ceremony for US Marine Corps, Cpl John Smith, Wounded Warrior, in Winchester, CA and we are honored to do so.

HFOT has built Sgt John Smith and his family a home that has been adapted to his needs and will be mortgage free.  HFOT has done this for many Wounded Warriors across the country.

During his second deployment to Iraq, Marine Corporal John Smith lost his right leg and the vision in his left eye during the first Battle of Fallujah on April 12, 2004. For the next 4 weeks he was in a coma and suffered a long, extensive treatment to recover as much ability as he was able.

For more on his story, here is a link:  https://www.hfotusa.org/building-homes/veterans/smith/

The Patriot Guard will meet, brief, at the initial staging area for the procession. If you wish to participate and meet our Hero, he is expected to meet us at our staging site and we can shake his hand and learn how he is doing.  We are very excited to be there for this as we were there for the ground breaking ceremony several months ago.

We will then bring Sgt Smith and his family to the ceremony. Distinguished guests will address the audience during the ceremony.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero.  For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his family to their new home. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
