The family of Robert Carl Ware has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Robert C. Ware served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953.  Robert served during the Korean War Era. Serving with distinction, he rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class in less than 3 years.

Robert was born in Southwick, Idaho. He passed away on April 29th. 2018, He was 86 years old. He enjoyed Southern California, living in the Escondido area for 45 years.  In his civilian life, Robert found a career in heavy equiptment, management, and sales at Caterpillar and Hyster Co.. He enjoyed many activities including, aviation, golfing, hunting, fishing, and gun smithing. He excelled in everything he did. In his later years Robert made two wondrous journeys including an African Safari and a trip to the holy lands.

When Robert left the Army he married the love of his life Verla Mae. Verla passed in 2015. They were married for over 50 years. He is survived by his proud children Kurt Ware and Tracy Ware-Ewing. His grandchild Andrea Ewing, his brother Pete Ware, and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

His children and his many friends, feel his most amazing accomplishment of all was his endless commitment and devotion caring for Verla following her stroke. For 24 years he lovingly cared cared for her until his health made it physically impossible.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the family home to his final resting place, approximately 26 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

0940- Arrive at family home

0945- Flag line for transfer of Hero to awaiting vehicle

0955- KSU for accompaniment to Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr., San Diego, CA 92122 https://goo.gl/maps/xWRMHz87Zwy

1030- Arrive at MNC

1045- Flag line for dignified transfer of Hero to horse drawn coach with bagpipes

1100- Flag line, funeral service with full military honors

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
