The family of James Richard Marrs, age 89, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his funeral service and honor him, it would be our privilege to do so.

James Marrs enlisted in he US Army in November, 1951 and served in Korea until his honorable discharge in November, 1953.  He was always very proud of his military service.

Just before leaving for the Army he married his loving wife Willodene in June, 1951. After James discharge from the Army they both went back to college at Kansas State College in Ft Hays, and achieved their degrees and became teachers.  James continued teaching until 1983 when he had a stroke that severely effected his speech.  He then retired and found lots to do around the house.  He loved gardening, and fixing anything, he even did mechanic work on the cars. In his younger years he loved fishing and hunting, and traveling with the kids all over the country pulling a trailer.

James is survived my his loving wife of 67 yrs Willodene, children Jeanne, Gerard, Jarrell (deceased), Jeannette and Jeffrey, and 6 grandchildren.
