The family of David Murray Williams has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

David Williams, 87, served in the US Marine Corps for three years, two of which were in Korea.  He fought with the 1st Marine Division in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir, a campaign early in the Korean War which was part of the Chinese Second Offensive (November–December 1950).  These Marines fought in severe winter weather in a mountainous region near the reservoir.  The weather was so cold and inhospitable that many of the Marines suffered frostbite, David included.

For his service David was awarded the Korean War Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Medal, the Republic of Korea Service Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation w/Star and the Good Conduct Medal.  At the time of his honorable discharge he had attained the rank of Corporal.

In civilian life David was a realtor in San Diego County.
