We have been invited by the family of William "Russell" Forsyth to accompany him to his final resting place, and it is our honor to do so.

Russell proudly served his country in the U.S. Army beginning with active duty of 1953-56, then in the reserves thru 1959. He rank was a PV-2 at the time of honorable discharge.

Russell was born and raised in Pasadena, California. Just before his 17th birthday he found his way into the Army to answer the call to serve. He had two brothers serving in the Marine Corps overseas at the same time.  Right after the Korean War armistice, the three brothers were reunited in Germany with the help of their C/Os. Russell's military service was a great and rewarding experience that stayed with him all his life, and he shared it through stories to the people he loved.

Shortly after returning home, Russell met the love of his life, Pat, who became his wife of 62 years, and the mother of their 2 children.

In his civilian life, Russell was a landscape architect for 46 years with his business partners being his brothers.  He enjoyed restoring old cars, 5 in total, the last being a '44 Ford Coupe, which his son and daughter still have.

Russell was a huge USC fan all of his life.  If you were a friend of his, you were probably a USC fan too.  Teri, his daughter, remembers a crimson red and gold blooming tree in the backyard that always bloomed around football season.

Russell was preceded in death this past January by his loving wife, Pat.  He is survived by a brother, Robert Forsyth; sister Gail Gaumer; daughter Teri Tassin and son Robert Forsyth, as well as six grandchildren.
