gt David Lee Zehr has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Sgt David Zehr, 32, joined the United States Marine Corps in January 2010. Early on his career he served as 2844, Radio Repairman with 3rd Marines, Special Operations Battalion, Camp Lejuene, NC. Shortly after five months with his unit, he got approved to join the Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) where he did multiple exercises and deployed to Afghanistan as an 8071 during Operation Enduring Freedom. During his last tour of duty, he lateral moved into the intelligence community and served aboard Camp Pendleton, CA as an 0241, Imagery Intelligence Specialist.
For his service David was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Afghanistan Camping Medal, Nato Medal-ISAF Afghanistan, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terror and National Defense Medal.
Sadly, this hero lost his battle with cancer. He will be returned to his home state of Pennsylvania for burial and we have been asked to accompany him to the airport for his final journey home.
The PGR in Pennsylvania has been asked to be present for David’s Final Honors.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying this hero from the mortuary to the airport. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

Sgt David Lee ZehrYou do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
