Roger Ortega, 69, was born on January 27, 1949 in Waco, Texas to Peter Ortega and Mary Louise Martinez and entered into eternal rest on November 22, 2018 in West Covina, California.

Roger was  a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and earned an Honorable Discharge for his years fighting bravely for our freedom.

Corporal Ortega recieved the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal  w/ 5 stars, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ Device, NDSM, Rifle Expert Badge. Infantry Assaultman - he worked as an Anti-Tank assault man. Served in Vietnam 12/67 - 12/68 and wounded April and May 68 by Bobby trap . Wounds were shrapnel to calf and thigh.

Roger Ortega was a man loved and adored by many! Roger loved his family and friends and especially loved the Lord. He read his bible everyday. If you knew Roger, you’d know he was proud to be a Marine and an American. Some of his favorite things to do were listening to music, reading, telling jokes, exercising daily, and going to the movies. Roger was quite a sports fan. His favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Bulls, and any sport of the UCLA Bruins. His favorite greeting when he would come to visit was “hello my family who loves me”.

Roger leaves behind his loving family, two daughters Melissa and Krista. Three brothers Rodolph , Ray and Michael. Two sisters Lydia and Roberta, also my more family members.

Remember to stand tall and Honor this warrior.
