The family of Joseph Onesty has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

Joseph was born on March 17, 1925 and entered into Eternal Rest on November 1, 2018.

Joseph served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from February 1944 to December 1945. He was a P-38 pilot serving in Italy during WWII. Joseph was shot down and crash landed, where he was rescued and returned to base with the help of a family from Yugoslavia.

His awards included the Air Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant.

After the military Joseph worked for Rockwell International, working on the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs until his retirement.

His favorite hobbies were flying and golf.

Joseph is survived by his son Mark, daughter Judy, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great-granddaughters.
