The family of Steven Rice, age 55, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his funeral service and stand a Flag Line of honor, it will be our honor to do so.

Steven was born on 24 August 1963 and entered into eternal rest on 26 April 2019.
         
Steven joined the US Navy at the age of 17 and served for 25 years. He served on the USS Independence and the USS Nimitz with multiple tours  the Persian Gulf, and Grenada.  Steven also had duty stations Pt Mugu NAS, NAWS China Lake, and Rota, Spain. 

Some of the awards for this highly decorated Sailor include the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Sea Service Deployment Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, 4 Good Conduct Medals, and the National Defense Service Medal.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

After the military Steven went through the Police Academy and served once again, as a police officer with the Fresno and Ridgecrest Police Departments.

Among Steven's hobbies were hunting, fishing, reading, and watching TV.

Steven is survived by his wife Alma, sons Jordan and Esteban, parents Curtis Sr. and Anita, sister Stacey, brother Curtis Jr. and wife Jennifer.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
