The family of Edmond E. Robinson, age 67, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to our country. It is our honor and privilege to do so.

Ed was a 23 year old truck driver from Henry, Kansas who joined the United States Navy  on 19 July 1944. After graduating from Naval Training School Farragut in Idaho he shipped out to San Diego and then to the Pacific Theater of Operations. While onboard a gunship that took fire, he suffered a shrapnel wound that took him to hospitalization and rehab. The War in the Pacific was over and Ed was honorably discharged on 15 November 1945.

For his service he was awarded The World War II Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Ribbon, and Asian-Pacific Campaign Ribbon. At the time of his Honorable Discharge he was a Seaman First Class, SV-6.

Our hero owned and operated Ed Robinson Trucking Company after the War until the time of his death, 21 years ago. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping and boating. He also owned a small collection of antique cars.

He was survived by his loving wife Mildred Robinson, who has since passed. At the time of Ed's passing Mildred was so distraught that she could not cope with the gunshots of an honor team. It is for this reason our hero never received final military honors.

That brings us to 2019 and members of the extended Robinson family, in conjunction with a 50th wedding anniversary and family reunion, have requested and arranged for these honors and the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders.

Those currently surviving include his sister, Levon White, his children, Linda Robinson-Dettman, Karen Robinson-Smith and Dave Robinson. In addition, there are 11 grandkids, 29 great-grandkids, and 5 great-great-grandkids.

We, of the Patriot Guard Riders, are blessed to be requested to witness a long overdue presentation of final military honors to our hero, Edmond E. Robinson.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero.
