*** UPDATE ***
*** Due to road construction near the mortuary the staging area for this mission has been moved.***

We will now be staging at the Thai Time Bistro Restaurant, 1830 Sunset Cliffs Blvd., San Diego (Ocean Beach) CA 92107   https://goo.gl/maps/QRVdf

Al Gagnon, the son, has invited the PGR to help honor his father, WWII Army Veteran, Raymond A. Gagnon for his service to his country.   We will be honored to do so.

Raymond (Ray) Gagnon served in the US Army from 18 DEC 1942 until 22 DEC 1945.  During that time he served 20 months in India where he utilized his carpentry skills to build hospitals and military barracks.  He also built other items needed to help complete needed functions of the barracks.   Ray was a Technician Fourth Grade (T/4) at the time if his discharge.

In his civilian life Ray was a Master Carpenter.  He enjoyed hunting, camping, square dancing and family gatherings. He also enjoyed participating in the Knights of Columbus and Portuguese Fiestas.

Ray was predeceased by his wife Margaret, and is survived by his two sons, Alfred Gagnon and Raymond Gagnon Jr., two step children, Clarice Acosta and Leandro Correia, eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Ray will be held at a mortuary in Ocean Beach.  Immediately following, we have been asked to accompany Ray to his final resting place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery where he will be interred next to his beloved wife Margret.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
